I grabbed a couple of days to get a little done. Paint is still not sanded and polished, but that means I don't have to be as careful, or if Murphy interferes, it is not as bad. Been working on the brakes, installing the radiator (details of problems in other post), shocks, and drive shafts.
Body guy finally painted the bed. Notice that we filled all the cracks and crevices with Great Stuff foam to seal them.
Here is my adaptation for the brakes. Since the master cylinder and booster are on the right, and I will drive on the left, I made this little contraption from my two pedal supports. Not very pretty in the picture. Parts are in the kitchen oven at the moment after painting.

Sikkens poliester. 2 liters of base, two liters of top, and two liters of clear
Color: COF, sometimes called BLVC 818, called (from what I can determine) "Signal Red" from 69 to 77, "Flame Red" from 88 to 99, and in some models "Modena Red" in 88 and 89.

Seems like it has been forever, but I finally got back and got on my body guy, visiting 4 to 6 times a day for 8 days. Unfortunately I have to leave tomorrow, but it is finally at a point where not painting tomorrow will cost him, as this afternoon they finished the final sanding. 2 liters of base coat, 2 liters of top coat, and 2 liters of clear.
He had forgotten about the seat belts I gave him, so he spent yesterday making the box and installing them.
Hopefully I'll be getting foto updates daily, and be back late next week to assemble it.

I had taken the subframe to Santa Cruz where with a friend we measured what we could and modified the manual subframe to fit the automatic. It took cutting a little out of the sides and about 2 cm from the front. When I tried to put the engine in, it still needed a little grinding on the transmission control side, and it turned out the auto transmission is about 1 cm wider, so we heated and hammered a half cm on each side, and things fit together.

A lot of work and finally coming together for you. I would pull those nice wheels/tires off and put on some steelies while it gets painted though.

Body shop is finally caught up, or tired of my nagging, so we are a roll again. Hopefully there will be few accidents for a week or two and we can finish this time.

It may be the angle of the camera. I hope to put the AC in. Once it is painted I'll start on the engine and all the wires and parts. I'll figure out how to put the rest of the vents and things that were in the plastic dash, under the dash.
It may be simpler to get a vintage airheat unit for a hot rod that fits under the dash nice and neatly.

Those look like some severe angles on the steering column, maybe you are not finished installing yet. I guess you are not using the a/c or going with a different vent system ?

After making the final flare
I started on smaller details. Putting in the seats I found that the steering wheel is too far inboard to center on the ones I bought with the arm rests, so I went to the used auto parts store and picked up a couple of u-joints, relocating the steering column a few inches to the outside.
Also decided that the little chain and pin on the tailgate were not of the quality I wanted on the finished truck, so I bought some plastic coated stainless cable and a couple of stainless bolts, chopped off the threads, inserted the cable, etc.
And painted all the little parts that would need it. Here is the brake booster.
Finally I got the wooden dash from MiniSport out and modified it to receive the dash cluster from the 94 Rover, adding a tach, oil temp, and oil pressure gauges.

Front fender flares are now close to finished (need a little more rounding) and side marker and fender mirror holes filled.

Flame Red (I think it is COF). It was always going to be red, and I asked on various forums for names with the pictures. I thought the one I liked was Tartan Red, so I bought 250ml and sprayed part of the new front fender that was Flame Red. Tartan was too dark in my opionion (pictures on my site). So it will be the Flame Red that the front of the front clip had from the factory in 93-94.
