I never wanted to extend the front end so it was either B or D series and for the mini i just think a D is more practical in many ways.Pretty much all..except power which i took care of and some lol

I pulled the trigger and just loved the Rywire/Minitec Tucked harness they offer and have a potential buyer for my Current Minitec harness and engine harness on my motor now.Losing all the Big connectors connecting the 2 hatness's will help me with the way things are laid out with the car/turbo piping, lines, intercooler,BOV etc. Few people said really? Just to ditch some plugs and have a thinner harness? YES! Every inch counts in a swapped mini with a turbo especially.

Great reading through the thread.  It is nice that you are constantly updating and putting your info out there.  I'm looking at doing a K swap eventually but I have other things to worry about first.  I was thinking about buying a TSX and using it as my daily to move the kid around until I can buy a truck next year.  Then I can swap the K24 into my RSX and use the K20 for a swap in the Mini.  But we shall see how things play out.

The motor and new redone trans are in the car.Had an ECU issue which was my fault.Burned a resistor inside :( i was honest about it with the company and they warrantied it/repaired it for free even after it was out of warranty.Great company ..

Had the trans fully gone threw ,cleaned, and rebuolt..and the LSD installed by MattSteedleTransmissions ...check him out !!! He is awesome.Focuses mainly on VW trans but does a lot of manual transmissions for peoples race cars hondas etc.Great guy, ships transmissions out daily all over the place.

Motor is in the car and done all ready just waiting for the ECU to come back.Cant wait!!!!!

The 3.72 is what I have in my car and its a good all around final drive. Its perfect for a mini.

I have a really good manual transmission guy around my way who's big into VWs/Honda's but knows all manual trans really good.I'm having him install the LSD and go over the trans.I have both of my motors on stands right now and swapping everything over. Can't wait !!

Just a suggestion. You might want to look at the 96-2000 DX final gear ratio of 3.72. Great longer gear pulls compared to the 4.25 and around 3200rpm at 70mph on 13s.

That is what i have been driving on for nearly 5 years and love it : )

Vx is the highest OEM gearing I believe, so that's what I need to find, 10" wheels too. My lump is a twin stage vtec, JDM D15B - AC is in the plan too

Ssuperflyoldguy...

I get what you're saying. The D series is so perfect for a daily driven type cruiser. What final drive do you plan to use?

I do street race as well ,I am somewhat cautious with my cars or who I have in the car but I do get reckless at tines.Usually on a road around trees so if someone gets hurt,it will be me.I cant help it,I love it.I am also looking into getting a nice roll cage for my car not just the loop.I'm planning to make some pretty good power this time around.I have boost by gear so in the upper gears I will be pushing a lot of power.I'm pretty excited,I feel like cruising down the highway with 300+ hp will be pretty scary and a whole, lot of fun if it makes it to the ground lol

Very cool build. I was debating between the the D & B series. I'm currently doing a B series build. This helps keep the fire burning to finish!!

check out the official website for updates!!!!!  //www.minimeetnorth.com

I meant that your car is scary fast & you drive it to its capability, thus you may get yourself killed. All in fun, hope to have a D-Series in mine by next year, no turbo for me

I dont have an estate? I really wanted a clubman estate though :(

It may not seem many are interested in this thread but I surprisingly get messages /calls from time to time as I have put my number in them before. There are a lot of people who want to know first hand from someone who BUILT THEIR OWN CAR and On top of it one who built one that is street friendly and not annoying..

.Someone with a turn key drive anywhere type car,any type of cold weather or hot temperature, stand still traffic in 90+ for hours, someone with 10" wheels who tried GOLF CART wheels/diff offsets, did it on a budget in certain areas with a bag of tools and a grinder and a cheap stick welder that I didnt even know how to use before the build.I'm not a master mechanic or fabricator ..this swap is truly quite simple and VERY rewarding when done right.Any issue that people complain about CAN BE RESOLVED by your choices during the build. The car can be as quiet as you want it and smooth as you want it and more reliable then it EVER was if YOU BUILD IT RIGHT AND PAY ATTENTION.

The outcome of the build can be everything you want it to be,you just have to stay focused and make it what you want.If you rush it and dont pay attention to little things you will NOT like the car. That's any car you build to this extent.Leave a few things lose/sloppy here and there and before you know it you have creaks and rattles, exhaust leaks, sloppy steering etc etc all, because you were lazy and didn't pay attention then you wont be happy with it...

Me? I'm careless in ways but love everything about it.I just want a cruise everywhere type car I can race other cars with and surprise the hell out of them lol :)

Its been quite some time.I pulled the motor out....

Fresh machined block bored to 75.5 Eagle H beam rods with ARP2000 rod bolts 75.5 Viatara low compression pistons ARP head studs

Should be close to 8 to 1 compression which is super low and I wanted it to be higher because of the lack of room for a larger turbo but I got such a good deal on the rods and pistons I just used them.I'm thinking its going to be a handful once I start getting the boost up high.

Shortblock is assembled and ready to go.

New flywheel Cleaned rebuilt factory head decked and ready to go. Mfactory LSD for trans Y8 head gasket (thinner) raises compression slightly

Need to order a clutch...I'm thinking since the mini is so light it doesnt need as heavy of a duty clutch as a 300hp civic.I don't want to mess up my perfectly silky smooth clutch pedal or lose any driveability like a puck clutch would so ive been debating on the clutch.

Will post pics of the new motor in a few weeks.Been building 2 other cars.

Intercooler fitted! Got more done then that but took it back out to weld it up.Waiting on a roll of reinforced pvc hose from ebay and in the meantime ill mount my water cell in the trunk and wire the water pump up.Also waiting on the hobbs switch to activate it by boost.Going to go up to 10psi and see where its at for now but i want to land on 14psi.Just have to tune it and put boost where i can use it.Mainly in 2nd and up.Should be fun!

I dont mind talking to myself..for the people who eventually will want to see it..itll be here! I dont need the regulars who dislike my style lol

P.s. sorry i have been slacking...ive been telling people its "broke"...whats wrong? Its missing more boost lol its almost ready to be driven again with the addition of a few more pounds of bost.I actually was bored with it slightly and didnt even want to bring it to the meets until it had atleast double the boost lol car scene around here is picking up lately.. Be back very soon ;)

Also forgot for those who are wondering about traction

Hondata s300 is awesome and there are features to help!

Boost by gear...so the car if i have a built motor and high boost wont see that in 1st or 2nd l clearly...that just wont work lol

Also,i forgot i had the minitec rear frame kit.I seen it the other day in the garage and totally forgot! I want to install that soon lol

Still going strong.

Been playing with boost some.Just got RC550s ,my a2w intercooler,a2w water cell and pump.Ordered 25' of hose to plumb it in.Man fitting stuff under the hood is tough! Lol once thats all fully installed i will be going higher.

Been driving the car a ton,its awesome.Gets me away from my rwd cars and is just all around different.Dont get me wrong i love my turbo mustangs and still play with them but this is just different and i can go to a local meet and play around with other cars and have some fun.

The front end is coming off again this week.I have the minitec hinges on it and i am going to fab up some brackets to hold a set of different hinges so i can pull a hood release inside the car like a factory car would, and get out and lift it straight up like a hood rather then pull out then flip up like minitec.I eventually would like to maybe have my buddy help me do an electric front so i can just pull a lever to release then push a button and up it gos but thats down the road. Its been done though!!

Started a youtube page recently so i will get a few videos uploaded then post some links on here ! Ive just been playing with the boost levels and its cool that the cars soo small and light that even going up 15-20hp you feel a decent difference lol i really want to get a built motor in there and get it worked out the way i want but i will post videos As i progress 4psi-24psi! Lol well see where the boost stops

Power is getting tamed with the stock wheels rather then the negative offset cart wheels.I loved the look of them and they were fine on the old set up but now with the turbo they are not soo good for full throttle in 1st or 2nd so off they came and back with the old 10x5 minilites.Way better now...so more power once again

Injectors on the way, figuring out a charge cooling idea or which way i want to go with it.A2w or just do methenol injection...not sure yet. Both have positives and negatives amd trying to figure out which i want to deal with.I will be raising the boost to 12-14psi hopefully with this little turbo and seeing how it is there.

Hondata s300 is great so 1st gear and 2nd gear will see lower boost levels then 3rd and up gears.1st will only have 4 psi probably..6psi in 2nd..then 3rd and up max boost lol

If that works out well i will be building a new motor built for whatever i can throw at it.Cam and the higher gears will be pushing the turbo to its max PSI in efforts to break 300whp..lets see where it ends up being too much..lol

The hondata is awesome..i drove around with a handheld wideband,a laptop, and tried watching a boost gauge while full throttle and trying to keep ot straight and it is deffinately a 2 person job.

Idling the car is spot on and light throttle cruising but WOT i have a boost table that in boost retards the timing and adds fuel in boost only and would make some passes and see where its at.Its getting closer...wideband gauge reads 11.9 and quickly down to 11.3 as the pedal hits the floor and by nearly 7k it hit 10.9 which is super rich...gotta lean it out some and maybe put a little more timing in it since im pulling 2 degrees per psi to start (only 4-5psi currently)

Meetthespeakers you will love the hondata and the things you can do with it.Its awesome and real user friendly,i just dont know what im doing really ...i just know my tuner the main things he did was pull timing and add fuel so thats a safe place to start, deff want to have it dyno tuned from a well known honda tuner around my way but im trying to make sure all is well and i want to fogure out where u want to be power wise..right now its cool because its simple...

If i want more power i have to do injectors, intercooler, fuel pump naybe to get me to 220ish whp...then if i want more i have to put this piston and rod motor together and crank the boost way up.Whats awesome is the hondata you can set up boost by gear ..so i can add all the boost in the upper gears since i can tell 1st gear isnt going to like a ton of boost lol

Fun..and not for a NON driver kindve person .Deff hsve to know what youre doing and pay attention at all times.

Played with the hondata the past few days. What an awesome set up and very easy to use..if only i really knew what i was doing lol

It was giving me a little trouble in a few ways but mainly my fault and the junk laptop i dug up to help me but it runs way smoother now then before normal driving, idling etc.Its also is super easy to change a tune and upload a diff tune to the ecu.Literally click a tune, turn the key in on position..hit upload...shut off and turn back on and youre on the new tune lol Have to weld the wideband bung into the new exhaust set up/downpipe and see where we are but the NOT SO SMART side of me had to hear the turbo spool and wastegate open as usual lol 4 psi and the added fuel/reduced timing.

i need an intercooler set up but i want to see how traction is at around 6psi for now..if its good i will add the intercooler and go up in boost until i cant use any more lol
