Got the top installed today, and did a quick alignment.... Got the NC DMV inspection last week and the plate, now waiting the new title and will apply for the final plate.

Whatever we did seems to work. Now for the exhaust and handbrake cables.....

Now running.... needs a few things to totally complete.

That would work but wouldn't you also need a top radiator bracket from a small bore S to match the spacing up correctly.

Would this do the needful to gain the 1/4 of an inch?

Well, for sure removing the shroud would fix this problem. Not sure I want to do that at this point. I may try a bit more self torture groaning and cursing at various components before going that route.

Yes it is. I have converted a couple of them one a pick up and one an early saloon but they both had their inner fender shrouds removed which i think all UK mk lll on Minis did by the time the one piece shrouds were in production.

Sounds like a good solution. Will that fit easily?

At this point, I just want to get it on the road and go motoring!

Nice work Peter. If you are not worried about originality install the one piece radiator shroud and mounts, it will make life easier if you ever have to remove it later on.

So, now the motor is in, I have a fitment situation. A Cooper S harmonic balancer is fitted, so I needed a lower radiator bracket to get enough clearance. Turns out I got too much, and now the radiator is smack up against the chassis radiator shroud. Have to make some adjustments and it'll be good to go. So far, no injuries, no hospital trips, so all in all, things are going slowly, but ok.

Any suggestions as to how to get back a 1/4 inch clearance. Considering ovalating holes in lower rad mount, etc.... pulling rad, bending mount.... all a pain in the butt.... don't see any easy solution.

I probably have 2 more weeks before installing the power unit. Don't expect to see this at MME this year. I do not need to drive myself crazy getting it ready for one show and live with mistakes forever. We'll see.

Dzus fasteners done pretty close today. May redo one set, but need more supplies, which is one of the problems.

Go to imgur, find pbraun for more photos.

There was a young man showing his Moke at MMWEST 2016 that was a project in high school. He had done very nice work. Considering it was his first attempt at restoration work it was very impressive.
Told him he should be proud of himself.
I'm sure he'll go on to even greater works.

Do you plan on bringing the Moke even if it's not done to MMEast ?
I love to see it and talk to you about it.

Slowly I move along, trying not to mess up too badly! Gas tank went in today, with luck the bottom cover and then the fuel pump and lines, if I can figure that out!
