The details I got on the trailer option are that it is already full. However, it may be possible to get the marcos and the peugeot he is hauling on the same trailer. If it works out, the hauler is saying he is departing Tuesday from LA. The number that was thrown out was $1200.

Really wish it was closer. I would get rid of my Moke project for this.

Oh my, I didn't know that Robin had passed.  I chatted with him quite a few times about the conversion back to a standard layout.  I've been pining for another Mini Marcos, but not a Mk4...

Best of luck,

Tom

I am trying to spread the word that there is a 1965 Mini Marcos available for sale here in SoCal for $10K. The seller is dealing with the car collection of her late husband and is a bit overwhelmed and I am working to help ease some of the stress from the situation by having taken posession of the Marcos and am showing it to interested buyers.

I will be towing it up to the MOALA meeting and swap meet this coming weekend to show.

To put it bluntly, this car must sell for $10K. There is absolutely no money in it for me. She does not want someone to broker it for her for more money. The first person with $10K cash-in-hand will own it.

This car is a project.

It formerly had a 1000cc Honda CBR motorcycle engine installed in the rear half and was a running, driving car. The noise was too much for him and when it suffered a thrown chain that left him stranded on one drive, he pulled the entire rear subframe conversion out as a single unit and was ready to return it to original A-series power.

He stockpiled a lot of engine parts to build a 1380 A+ motor including a machined block, new 1380 pistons, H-beam (I-Beam?) rods, new alloy head casting, and rod change transmission, machined crank, 286 kent cam, new bearings, lightened flywheel, 6-puck clutch, 1.7 roller rockers, new Weber sidedraft carb, manifold, and linkage, etc. There are still parts missing that will be needed to assemble the motor like te timing chain, the head will need valves and assembly, needs all bolts, nuts, studs and other hardware.

All of the A-series engine parts are included with the sale.

A good, used, complete but stock mini rear subframe is loosely installed currently so the car can roll. The front end of the car is fully functional with 8.4" 4-piston brakes and stock suspension. it will need axles to match the transmission but is otherwise a A-series drop-in-ready front end.

The complete factory-claimed 135hp motorcycle engine w/ rear subframe and swingarm assembly is also included and could be reinstalled if the next owner would like to undertake that effort.

Heck, since the motorcycle setup retains the stock Marcos (mini van/wagon) tank, it could concieveably be made twin-engine: A-series in the front and motorcycle in the back! But I digress...

There is a thread the owner had started on the mini marcos forum here:

//www.minimarcos.org.uk/cgi-bin/forum/Blah.pl?b=MM,v=display,m=1432579907,s=0

pics here of when it was a driver, and there's a link within that link of the motorcycle conversion build:

I will be able to provide additional current photos sometime after this coming weekend. Priority is given to in-person, cash buyers who are able to come look at, evaluate, and cart off everything. If you need current photos before you can decide if this is something you want to take on, you will have the opportunity after this coming weekend.

Attached are the only 2 current photos I have to offer at this time. Is is no longer on the frame setup and is rolling on its 4 wheels at this time.

Please understand that the rear trunk area HAS been cut out for the motorcycle conversion and will require a means to close the holes if the next owner would like to restore the car to original.

Car and all parts are currently located in Escondido, CA. email me privately to set up a time to come see it.
