oh wait a minute, you're right sir Mal,  i'll get a bigger size shaft and drill the hole using same size bit to fit the shaft.. excellent. now the problem is, will the new shaft comes with the butterfly?, or will my old butterfly fits the new one?

worse comes to shove, i will just do what joe curto did, he used same shaft and a copper ring then he drilled the hole to fit the ring, then slide the old shaft into the tight ring.,problem solved!,
right now , i just slapped handful of thick grease around the shaft and hole to minimize the leak., it's working but not to it's full potential., i hate to loose 5Hp due to leaking carb shaft., i need to address the problem.

Really a pressure leak ????? Not likely.......... Maybe you are getting pressure and air leak confused so called "specialist".
Buying another used carb will give you the same results.
Get an oversize shaft and ream out the body to size, think outside the box after all you are a self professed fabricator.

gosh! i saw this youtube video about aligators roaming around florida, the video says there are about 1.3 million young and adult aligator roaming around the lakes, rivers, ponds across the state of Florida, i'm like really, they allowed it to procreate and leaving people especially children in danger? Well in Asia you won't see those kinds of aligators around, we have a good recipe for that beast.
we have brains...use it !

Update:  Sorry guys, i was kicked out by our forum Aligator in the other thread, he wants me to stay in this thread all the time.

Troll pure and simple . You're a liar and you distort the truth to suit your twisted mind. My story hasn't changed. Yours has evolved and twisted.

There was no blaming of Mr. Wooldridge, what you're claiming never even happened.

Your beyond wrong. And to lie and twist things for your own amusement just proves for all to see that you are a troll.

Well, well, well !!! i see two gate crashers inside my little abode  !!!! lol, and what? you mean a friend emailed you?? gosh! well i won't google him, i'd rather Viber him,,,,,,ooops!

anyway, you know i have apologized to you many times in the past but you just ignored it., but this time i know I'm right, eventhough i wasn't there when the mini acrobat(standing on a jack stand) happened, i am very very sure that the stand was indeed set underneath the side panel, which happened to be a mortal sin. And blaming somebody else (Mr. Wooldridge) for your own mistake is even more sinful.
The scene might very well be inside your garage, i mean who knows right.

There are really some people in this world that are "reckless" always gets into accidents, big or small. i didn't say it's a bad thing, in fact accidents can happen anytime, if you know what i mean. so please don't feel bad. and don't get angry, so what if you want to put the jack stand under the side panel, it's not really any one's business, you're good, nothing wrong with that, don't be ashamed.

i wanna see your red mini, come on let's have a coffee...let's meet halfway,, let's meet in Gila Bend

Rick,
you are running rich,, adjust the air/fuel mixture.  take the spark plug out and see it's color and condition. i betya it's black or dark. means you are running too rich.  start with the easy one, before you even take the exhaust or "catalytic converter" apart. (who uses cat con on a classic mini BTW??????tell me).   anyway..

Hmmmm

First time here. Cozy

Had an email from a friend (Google it) saying you were spouting lies.
This rather reminds me of our current administration.
Alterative facts seem to be the special of the day.
I'm making an exception to my own rule of not addressing you.

Let's go over the facts. The real facts. I was there, you were not.

1. Who's car is pictured ?
Not a trick question, but is fairness you do not know.
Bobby Wooldridge, Blacklick Ohio (Not mine, wasn't sure I wanted to buy the car)
2. Where was the photo taken ?
Mr. Wooldridge's garage.
3. I took the photo (You weren't there and didn't take the picture)
The wheel cylinders were bad. I wanted the rear brakes replaced and MC replaced.Shoe's were contaminated with brake fluid.
(Wooldridge) agreed to replacing the wheel cylinders and master but would only sand the brake shoes.

We went back and forth and finally struck a deal.

Then and only then did I buy the car and it became mine.
So, there's no way around it.
I was there, you were not.

So whatever you think you know, (an expression you're very familiar with)
WRONG AGAIN !
He jacked up the car by the rear sub-frame but wasn't able to get the stand under the car.

You're wrong sooo many ways, but I'd expect nothing less from you.

So if you wish to try to convince yourself and others, remember, only you look like a fool.

So coffee , yeah, I don't think so.

I don't have a lot of friends. But the friends I have a quality, not quantity.

I don't need any more.

Waiting for you to apologize .

1st and hopefully last visit here.

if you look at the picture he posted on the other thread closely using a magnifying glass, clearly the picture shows that the jack stand tip is touching the lower side panel of the car, and that half of the entire weight of the mini is standing on top of it.... it's as clear as the arizona sky, i can't be wrong.

you know, we all do mistakes in our lives, all we need to do is to accept our mistakes and learn from it.

the problem is,he might do it on the driver's side next time...lol

Well here's a british talking guy trying to explain what a classic mini is, i think he's good.  https://youtu.be/r-8rkW2nQhQ
But you know people identify classic mini in many different names, there is mark1, mark2, mark 3, even mark4, there's also Leyland mini, Innocenti , SPI  , Cabriolet( they cut the back part and call it something else ,,,weird)  but heck when you look at the body, they're all the same. The dimensions and shapes are the same. I dont see the point of callng it with many diff names.it just creates confusion,,, classic mini is cllassic mini. Period !!!

Jeeesh!, i didnt know that you still using points distributor,,, well, check the condenser, they go bad when you least expect it. ... And for heaven sake, pls switch to electronic distributor,, this is 2017,,, the only people who uses points and 10 inch steelies are the purists. And when you drive, never never press the gas pedal tothefloor.  Wide open throttle is minis no.1 enemy.

yes you have a fuel in the tank, but the question is,,, is it being pumped to the carb??  remove the gas line that goes to the carb insert it into a clear bottle and start the car... see if the fuel pump is still pumping gas, might be shot.  2nd, check the firing order./ check if the bolt that holds the distributor in place is tight. this bolt tend to loosen and distributor turns and upsets the firing order.

This japanese fabricator thought that cutting the mini in the middle to make it even smaller will make the mini more attractive, well nope, in my own opinion it look stupid... He just ruined two nice classic minis and turned them into junk.   Makes me mad really

But in my observation, people tend to like or appreciate a running project mini,, people do not appreciate a too shiny and well kept mini, people love to see mini that has some rust here and there, primer, a little bondo, like my mini, that's why whenever my wife ask me when will i paint my mini, i always say, owning a mini is like having a child, you never stop taking care of it.  to me if my mini mini is well painted and shiny, people tend to see it as just any ordinary car in the street. ,, my mini will stay as a running project,  fix, upgrade and modify throughout the course of time that i own it.,, i can always put money to it and make it nice, and then what????

what he did to me was a reverse psychology... Which is good, nobody eggs on me anymore, i like it,,,thanks my friend!!

someone said " if im going to hell, im going with a moke"  omg,  another moke hater.... Count me in.  If you want to know my opinion about mokes??  Straight forward i'd say i dont like it.   First, it looks like a senior citizens  modified golf cart that goes around RV parks,  second the shape and style doesnt look serious, it looks like a childs plastic jeep running with 6volts motor bought from toys r us.  Lastly, it doesnt posses any exciting history unlike the classic minis.,, its just moke came out from nowhere, a military vehicle reject.   Thats my opinion.
Wrong again special boy. How uninformed you are for the "specialist" you claim to be.
As you like the internet so much for your information check out the Coke Moke it should be there. In case you don't find anything it was entered in the London to Sydney rally and driven from London UK to Sydney Australia and it completed the rally which is a lot better than some other more substantial vehicles did.

For a "specialist" you sure do edit a lot of your posts.
