Sir Dan, i have not seen a shoulder full of hair.?  Why did you say that sir alex know him??? I dont think that's sir alex's head.  I mean  honetly i have no clue at all.  I was just shocked why the lips were so thin like the lips of an alien.   But if you say so sir dan, i believe you

WRONG AGAIN!

Your copy of someone else's photo is cropped and rotated (probably by your cheap phone).
It is obviously the top of someone's head, and I wouldn't be surprised if Alex knew the fellow.

(What IS your weird obsession with body parts, anyway?)

No, not quite sir Alex,, it's someone else's mouth and chin... The lips  are just too tiny.

The Bad Obssession guys btw made this thing called Project Binky where they stripped off an MK1 and slap a 4 wheel drive engine, very nice , the production has been going on for a while, they already have about 11 to 12 episodes but guess what? nobody has seen this so called 4wd mini in action, it still sitting in their garage while the two Binkies are still busy sipping tea on their teacup. i have been in the US for almost 16 years, and i have been in 14 different states, and driven in many Interstates and highways but never once i see any classic mini being driven in highways or interstates, not once. the question now came to my mind, are these vtec minis really capable of highways speed??? and can withstand 80mph continuous for 8-10 hrs? like modern car does? But anyway, i used to like Vtec minis, now i dunno. But if you are ready to do the conversion, go for it.. im sure it'll work for you. good luck!
I drive my mini on the interstates and freeways all the time.  I drive mine to all the mini events across multiple states.  Now I do have a minispares 5 speed in my car and built the car up for driving it anywhere I want to go.  I live in Ohio and drive to Tenn once or twice a year and drive to New york alomst every year, mostly on the freeways going 75mph.  The mini works great.  You don't need a vtech.

You should read more slowly. The dome nut was not "ground" down but lapped very carefully on a very flat surface.
AND it was to solve the problem that even with NO SHIMS, the joint was too loose. The dome nut was lapped down to provide the correct amount of resistance with the lock-tab washer in place but NO SHIMS. Final assembly for that joint  contained NO SHIMS.

As i browse the forum, i see someone is having an issue on his balljoint ,shim etc... well i had the same problem when i was installing my disc brakes, i tightented the dome with the lock tab (MINUS the shim) all the way down and it tightened perfectly. i asked someone and he said to put the shim,no matter what, so i put the shim then tightened all the way down, THEN it was loose. so my common sense told me that off course, without a shim it was tight all the way down , why would there be a need to put a shim?????? only to get loose?? NOW it's been almost a year and my balljoint is still tight and not loose, just perfect. I therefore conclude that : SHIMS comes with the kit but should NOT necessarily be used. it's just a back up in case there's a need. it's not a must to use it. it's not written in stones that it should always be used. some people even orders extra shims, i'm like really? but it it's a case to case basis. it's not that if you don't put shims you will get into an accident.. nope! it doesn't work that way.

..and i even read that one person even grind the bottom of his dome nut to accomodate the shims (????,,,,i'm like,, omgeeee!)

The truth behind the Boneville mini race... The so called almighty new zealand built red mini stalled  and didnt finish the race, the driver un-buckle seat belt and immediately stepped out of the car thinking it will explode ,he also took off all his harness ,gloves and helmet as if he wants to throw fit because his mini stalled in the middle of nowhere, THEN he stopped the video he doesnt want people to see and hear that he was crying in the backkground.. Watch at 4:15 minutes

You know with all seriousness-ness , 998 is not bad at all. I just got home from a 10sh mile drive around the neighborhood and my miini is so nimble, i dunno what that word means, i just heard it from youtube amd it sounds ok. The only thing i need to improve is the fuel delivery, i can feel the accelerration in different bandwith is not all good, at its ok at 30mph but seems rough at 45.   I dunno how reliable SU carbs are and how long can it stay tuned after you tune it right the  first time.  If you remember i replaced my old waxtat jet  with a new one and used my old needle whiich is the AAC. I better put the waxtat back but the tube attached to it is wacked. Im off for 3days and im doing a project in  the garage, will do lots of welding.  As ibe said , i think 998 is not bad , its good in gas and its powerful too, cant complain.

When BMW produced the new Mini, they made sure it will live up to  the image and likeness of the old minis.... Too funny! Now their under fire for leaky engines..

There's this ebay guy who sells cheap but pretty nice looking racing seats with Carbon fiber back panel , he's all over ebay, and claims to be living in Rowland California. And shipping cost anywhere within US is $120.   I suspect these are from mainland china and not Ca, USA.   But i like the carbon fiber back panel design.

"Several days of heavy rain in the forecast...transition day could see snow, freezing rain in some areas. Thereafter, flooding."

..... I pity those who live in these kind of weather,,,, whilst i am enjoying the sunny 68F weather in Arizona ,,some people are curled up under their  snuggies while frying marshmallows on their firepit.  No activity! Literally hibernated. I cant allow this to happen to my life.   I hate snow period!!!
