Someone on the other thread said not to mix match new and old jet and needle, i remember im using an old AAC needle with a new jet, thats the reason it rans crappy in different days and doesnt pull that good. So i installed the new needle together with the new jet(red), now the car runs fantastic and pulls powerfully. Thumbs up!!

So while somebody is still realizing and making up his mind if he is complaining about how to keep the rear window "open" or "Close" , i would want to advice that you can use low tension spring to keep the rear window in the open position, i dunno about keeping it close, that is a very rare, very very rare thing to happen, like once in a dark blue moon,, it will only happen if the body of the mini is twisted, and the alignment is upset.....aaaaanyway! that's my advice,..take it or leave it.

The rear parcel shelf is the area inside the rear windscreen, between it and the top of the rear seat. The body sheet metal is covered by a heavy cardboard panel finished in vinyl or carpet, like the door cards etc. His has gotten wet and has rippled.

The shelf portion of the firewall below the instrument pod is referred to as a "parcel shelf" where one might put small parcels.

sir Dan, somebody from the other thread posted a four words that i cannot understand,, he said "Wavy rear parcel shelf"  what does he meant?  looks like he just put together four words that doesn't mean anything., i know the word "parcel" means like a package form other countries that was delivered to your address by UPS, fedex or DHL.  other than that i really don't know what he's talking about, please explain if you got the chance. thanks.
you know i'm asian and these thing make it hard for me to understand.,, let me guess, ,did he order a shelf from ikea?

To reply to a member here who asks if anyone is using an Cold air intake, and why is it not widely used on a mini?
Yes, i use a cold air intake for 2yrs now and im loving it performance  wise and appearance wise, gives more looks inside the engine bay instead of just the space flying saucer looking intake filter.  And why was it not widely used on classic minis?? Well the “purists” discourage people to use them, they didnt give it a chance, they are anti-modernization.

noted sir Dan, but i swear the vibration and the sudden drag disappeared since i installed the swaybar,  the whole idea of the swaybar is that it connects the two wheels together, which means that the movement of one wheel is dependent on the other. just like a conjoined twins, if one wants to go to the restroom, the other conjoin twin needs to go with him inside the restroom because they are physically joined together.
Same as the swaybar, if one wheel run over a ditch, it will not bounce up and down if the other wheel run on a level ground simultaneously.  thus prevents  vibration and shaky-ness of the car.
i believe every classic mini should have a swaybar installed.

FYI, dampers do not contribute anything to supporting a car, especially sway in corners. The springs hold the car up and the dampers prevent the springs from oscillating up and down repeatedly after a wheel hits a bump. A car with worn dampers will continue to bounce up and down several times after a bump. Mini rubber cones are not to bad, but a car with coils and no dampening can be funny to watch. Your dampers may be fine and doing the job they were intended to do. If you were to remove them and then hit washboard ruts or small choppy bumps, the car wheels would lose contact with the road and skitter around.

thanks Sir Dan..

-----------------------------
So i just got done welding and installing my custom made and home made rear swaybar tonight at 9:30pm, took me about 2hrs...... i used 5/8 solid pipe.  and 1/4 metal plate in both sides..and i used 4 eye swivels 4inches in length. and 1/2 in diameter(solid, not flimsy).
and i finally test rode it , and man oh man!!!! i felt a huge improvement in handling about 99% improvement. The road vibration disappeared . , ya'll know that i have a S***ty rear KYB damper, now i don't even need to replace the old damper, this rear sway bar acts as the damper.,  I did a very sharp turn on the corner street, nothing!! the car didn t even lean....i'm so happy with my homemade rear swaybar,, ......Once again, i'm impressed with myself!!

If you look at the display in the bottom of the image, you will see that speeds get up to 60mph and lateral forces in turns get up to 0.9G's. Considering they are doing this, not on a race course, but the equivalent of small roads in a campground, they are experiencing some wheel side-slip and possibly wheel lift/spin in corners.  These have to be constantly corrected with changes in steering input. The ball joints are fine.

Good thing it’s just a warning... no penalties,, yipeeee!! First time to get stopped by a police in 15years since i came here to the US... hmm i’d say police here are very nice,, his parting words to me, “good luck with your project”

he’s a young police , he said its his first time to see this kind of car.

you know what, 998cc is not bad at all, as long as the carb is properly tuned, it's fast.  right now my carb is a bit worn out that's why sometimes it runs crappy, but when it runs good, the throttle is really so responsive and drives fast. i need to call joe curto to fix my carb. aaanyway.

now i realize, paddy hopkirk drove 1071 when he won the turini whatever mini race, his car is only 73cc larger than my mini,, i mean what is 73cc difference? know what i mean?? a 73cc scooter is nothing so to speak....anyway...i love my mini, period!
