If you have a Clubman S it might be the HPFP high pressure fuel pump.
For the 2nd gen BMW MINIs, the HPFP is a known problem and might be covered at the dealership under a recall.
I don't know if a scan tool that they use at Autozone or O'Rielies would be able to see the fuel rail pressure. The ScanGuageII or some smart phone apps can tell you the fuel rail pressure.
This is just my guess from the symptoms that you listed.

2009 Clubman, stick shift. Car was running great. Parked it two days ago. Tried to start it. Battery seems fine, turns the engine over OK. But seems like there is no spark to the plugs as the engine does not run. All fuses -- inside & under the hood -- check out OK. Your suggestions are welcome.
