Mine is a MK1 shell. It seems I should be able to get my hand under the floor to serve up a nut. Thanks.

As Std it would be a captive nut, if the cars early enough it will be possible to access that area to use a nut and bolt, otherwise you could use a rivnut.
Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

Thanks, minimans. Also did some googling, it seems I may be missing a screw hole after I have the floor panel repaired. I hope it's just a matter of drilling a hole without the need of welding a nut on the other side.

Is the lower (shorter) fuel tank strap mounted on the one of the two subframe bolts? Otherwise, I don't any other hole for fixing it in place. Thanks.
