Steve, Alex can help you out posting these photos, and saving them on-line as well. Lots of free photo saving/sharing website out there.

Yes I'm quite aware the floppies are dead. I have the big square boxes 100 or so came in. All full and waiting to be thrown out. Shame too as there are some very nice pics on some of them.

I wanted a mini maybe two but when it came to girls I wanted all of them. Maybe why I was 33 before getting married and still feel I rushed into it. Steve (CTR)

PS: just realized I have been married one year longer than I was single.

I realize the board is a ever changing place. I picked son Alex up from band practice 9 pm last night in a customer mini. Some of the kids wanted to look at it as it was a different color from our mini. Noticed a girl saying "I love it and want one". Funny I had the same reaction in 1968 when I saw my first Cooper S. To be honest I have never been the same.

Once floppies got so hard to find and two of my floppy cameras died I found a new style camera and some one gave me another. I'm currently doing two auto to std. swaps both with air. Talk about a tight fit. Steve (CTR)

"John, I have about 7000 photos on floppy disc. Turns out that is not a good way to store pics. " Depending on how long they have been sitting on floppies, and how they have been stored, you may have real trouble. The magnetic "impressions" tend to dissipate over time and the 'signal' get fainter and some bits/bytes get lost, leaving some files unreadable. I once had to redraw in CAD a 12-storey condo because the original CAD files were saved onto floppies and were not readable.

.

"Hang on a minute lads....I've got a great idea."

Sony mavika? I loved those cameras shove in a floppy and you had picture storage and straight to the computer. None of that farting around with cables and downloads!

Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

Floppies? Wholly you know what Batman! I seriously can not remember if I ever worked with floppies.

I'm still looking forward to seeing what you have.

Hey Steve, long time no see. The Mini is fine, runs great, starts every time too. For those of you reading this, Steve did a major make over on my Mini a few years ago. Changed a 998 automatic to a 1310 4-speed. Like dropping a big block in a Camaro. I have some more rust repair to take care of once things warm up again.

I am wondering, did you have any pictures of my project in that pile of 2000?

Call me some time, we'll get caught up.

you might want to get a kid to set up a storage area like the 'cloud' or a web site, and you can organize that by projects.  when you come on this site, you can reference or add a link to a pertinent thread.  Your 2000 pix would surely be an additional tax to this system.  Just a thought.  By having your own site, you can catalog it any way you like.

Some of you know I have never learned to post my own pictures. The recent two day snow in gave me the time to go though around 2000 mini progress pictures taken over the last year or so. They cover everything from rust repair and crash damage repair. Engines, trannys, suspension and brake work. Innos, Authis MK1 2 3 and more. Working to get them all up loaded and moved into files based on each project. Not sure if I should just drop a few here and there or start a thread of my own. I know people like pictures and these may be very helpful to someone. Thoughts? Steve (CTR)
