Hi Dan,
No, it hit us very hard. For whatever reason, we (personally) did NOT (for a change) lose power, whereas people literally all around us, a few miles/kms away, did.
We lost some trees and being a ham radio guy, I lost some wire antennas and stuff like that, and there is STILL ice on everything around here, but slowly melting.
Folks up north (Miramichi and beyond, into the Acadian Pennisula) are in some cases STILL w/o power. Less melting up there.
I am chalking a lot of it up to the aging infrastructure and lack of active tree trimming in the past few decades. I am 53, but I remember when I was a kid 10-15yrs old, we'd always see lots of crews trimming back trees everywhere we went in the warmer months. We really don't see that much anymore. (at least not here near Fredericton, NB where I am)
I think the reason we did NOT lose power (personally) was that during Hurricane Arthur,2 years ago in early July, we got hit very very hard in my immediate area and many trees had to be cut and many wires & poles repaired in my immediate area. Many were w/o power then for a week or more, but in July, it's much less stressful than Jan/Feb and the BBQ got a good workout, LOL
Thanks for asking.

~ 30 minutes in a Mini is more therapeutic than 3 sessions @ the shrink. ~

Mike (ve9aa): Did the ice storm miss you? In-laws in Miramichi are still out, some streets still blocked.

I watched a movie over the holidays about 3 Irishmen (I think it was) who, in 1964 (or thereabouts) drove a Mini from Ireland to I think it was Singapore. It documented their journey, more or less and talked a little bit about the Mini they had.
The documentary was made recently (around ~2014??) but had clips and photos from the trip, and testimonials from sons, daughters and survivors of the trip.(one or two of the guys had passed away)
Mini content was minimal (no pun intended) but it was there.
This mini-ish documentary kinda reminded me of the book I was once loaned from Big Al's travelling library titled "Don't kiss me it's very terrible"
I wish I could remember the name of it, but it must have got deleted off the PVR and now it's gone. Someone will know.
Probably would give it a 6/10.........

On the series "Bones" one of the guys drive a nice red mini.
There was an episode where they visited the UK and drove a rented mini.
I clearly remember the big detective guy struggling to get out of it and exclaiming "Its like being born!!!""
