Unprofessional from Mini Mania on this thread, and what does the President of the United States have to do with anything in regards to  minis, parts selling, helping newbies with our knowledge, export import regulations, and etc.,

Guys, I understand your strong feelings about all this, and yesterday was my day off to spend with my two year old son, so I missed Jim's "personal attack"!  But still, if you're into Classic Minis, it's part of your character to feel strongly about many things!

Let me make one little speculation about the new forum.... and the UK one mentioned....   I'll bet you a complete Jack Knight dog gearbox set (oh yes, I have TWO at the moment!!) that they were not started in the mid 1990s, with all of the limitations in technology that go along with that.  I know you people have lives to tend to, but I have told you before when I banned Robster etc. and a few rare others... mostly copycats,  that we simply do not have the functionality you point to in these other forums that date from our current millennium!  A disruptive person who wants to CAN come right back as someone else.... Thankfully even most of those losers have other fish to fry, other people to annoy!!  This one happens to have a Mini, and 6793 of you (at last count) have given him a home!  If we can mostly keep him there, well, it's your choice to visit!

All of you know very well who the owners of this site are, and should revisit Don's post from the last time this flared up, and the last time Jim went after me personally!  Look at some of the excellent suggestions by SXSMAN and ALEX.  Any change? Can you live with it?  The funny thing about this forum is that it really is a community, with some of the quirks that a real community has!  Look how many times Jim has grabbed his hat for greener pastures but here he still is,  going after me as if I was the source of his annoyance.   It's because other forums have crickets when we have like minded people 24/7/365!!   All you other folks lining up against me in this thread?  I give you a nice big target to go after, because I seem to be mostly the one of us you see and hear on here.  Consider that I too am here for many of the reasons you are, and don't have a lot more say than you do!  Consider also that my professionalism prevents conflicts of interest, and places limitations on what I can say and still work here!  Consider that I am already too transparent for my own good!

I am new to mini's and have only owned one for 3 years, I think this site is fantastic, but like any public forum you simply need a mental filter in order to get from it what you want. Try getting to the correct root cause of mil codes for your 2013 Escape by hunting on the net. If you goal is learning about your 62 Mini Cooper, in complete detail, on any subject, this site requires very little in the way of filtering. And all of this due to the fine people who populate this site. but perhaps I am looking through rose colored glasses

I agree, that attack on our host was uncalled for and completely unjustifed. Though that other creature is repulsive and has polluted this board incessantly, this does not justify in any way such personal attacks. I don't even want to quote it. I can only hope that was not indicative of your true character.

For the record, if I see a reply from the other creature, I don't look at the thread. I do have to agree that this community has been damaged severely, and if it took banning this misanthrope a hundred times, that's what I think should be done. How pathetic and deranged, and desperate one must be to keep coming back after being banned multiple times. Certainly no semblance of pride there.

hey, whoah, back off there, that tone seems to me like that is going over the top

The issue is about a poster here who has caused much frustration for users, but that is not reason to attack our host personally.

I admit it….I've visited the idiots thread !…..but only when I'm in need of a laugh…lol

I've now joined the forum that this thread is a topic off…..not that I'm leaving this one though

As long as we're on topic of other forums….the mini forum is probably the best place for quick technical answers etc, and is the largest of all mini forums I think….they also do not put up with any BS at all.  If you become a "supporter", you'll also get a discount at Minispares

OK, this is my first post on this subject, just a couple of comments.
1) If you ban him, shouldn't once be enough, otherwise it isn't really
a ban.
2) I try to stay off his special place, but will admit to looking at it when
I saw that Alex had replied to him. Curious to see what had riled him (Alex)
enough to have to respond.
3) We won't have to worry about him ruining the board that Cheleker
recommended because there is a registration required before you can post
to it. Plus a person can be banned from that board for posting crap.
Just my two cents.

I have heeded your advise, I ignore him and he's aware that I will not speak to him.
(Although he still tries to lamely bait me into responding)

Last person to leave, please turn the lights out.

FOR THE RECORD.
l have never tried to adopt him. I have never encouraged him nor taken on the responsibility for his 'upbringing'.
I have NEVER encouraged his bad behavior or his compulsion to stir up trouble, insult people, post lewd or sometimes obscene posts.
I have corrected when he has posted misinformation or outright foolish or dangerous information about Minis, their care and maintenance.

Instead of arguing with us, perhaps you should consider the message we are trying to convey - this forum is suffering a slow and pittiful demise and we are losing interest in it.

As Whee says "I'm done with this thread."

Like it or not MiniMania the company is represented to the world by this forum. In the past, I think it brought in revenue from people like me who didn't look elsewhere to price shop precisely because of the value this community brought. I used to recommend people to come here for good advice - now I don't.

This community no longer brings that value, so now Minimania is "just another supplier" to me.

You can count views if you like, I'll vote with my $. I'm sure others are doing the same.

I'm done with this thread now.

I have very specifically never once clicked on that thread.  Also, whenever his name shows up as a reply in another thread I skip past it because it is so irritating when I do accidentally read his nonsense (and hope that no one else responds to it).

If there was a way to "ignore" certain posters (so that nothing they post would ever show up when I look that the forum) I'd be fine.

Yes, really.

Look at who has bothered to count themselves in and think about the collective knowledge and experience therein. Then think about the many experts we don't see/hear about any more.

Your "car wreck" rational, frankly appears to be on a similar wave-length  as the source of our displeasure. The number of posts (mostly his) and the number of hits is not a valid excuse, unless of course you are admitting the board has become a cash cow for paid advertising, as was suggested.

I will admit to checking his "space" occasionally for utter nonsense or dangerous "alternate facts" about Minis.

By the way, his "space" is by no means anywhere close to the champion of threads titled "Sicko" (spelling unsure.. it may have had a hyphen), but maybe you're too young or new around here to remember it.

Bringing the sorry state of your country's politics into the discussion is a red herring, and nothing to do with the issue at hand.  You also forget this forum has a very international audience - your "culture" isn't our "culture".

And just in case anyone has forgotten:

I can't remember if this has come up here before. Graham Robinson, who lived a life of Minis since the early '60s, has retired and started up a  new Mini (and MINI) related forum. It looks like it has a lot of potential and can add some different views to what we are used to on this forum. Visit them both and add even more to your Mini knowledge.

Really?

Hmm, I wonder who make up the 6688 times "his little space" has been visited, or the 192 posts he has as last count!   I can assure you that ZERO of those are me!!

I may have helped convince him to mostly stay in "his little space", but not much I can do about all of you making that space the second most popular thread on the entire forum!!  Other than Don's "Photo Contest" thread that has been running for years and is "sticky" so it stays at the top of page one, our little fiend's space has more than twice the visits of the next most popular multi year thread, and more than 3 times the visits of the next 3 most popular threads of the last few years

Just who are all these gluttons for punishment then?   Just normal people who just HAVE to look at the train wreck!!  Still doubt my assessment of our culture?   Look who we just elected to "lead" us....
