I have a picture somewhere ( actually two pics ) of a CA market MINI (MkIV) with side markers……and then the same location and talent with a Belgian market MINI…. (no markers )

Chuck, looking at the brochures from European models there are sometimes  small front side markers but never rear quarter markers.

Were the side lights put on Minis built or assembled other than England for Canada? Belgium, for instance.

The car in question is now for sale on this web site.
The son of the former owner is selling it for the estate of his late father,
I had someone go look at the car and it is a1972.
It has the big hole in the back seat panel.
The former owner had many minis and put everything he could from later cars in to this one.
So the switches and wiring from a 79.
The dash from a later 84+.
Sub frame is the 4 bolt model

I have an early Canadian MkIII - '72 with side markers....build date is March of '72 if I remember correctly.
To Spitz's point, I have an earlier interior (based type of switches and a center binnacle) - And as Mur noted the remote gearbox. I'm inclined to agree w/ Spitz on it being '76+

I had a 1970 MkIII CA market car that did not have the side markers.....so definitely 71 or 2

That kijiji MINI def has later interior/ column controls
A 72 would also have different boot badge....can't tell if it has a drip edge... later brake master and fuse box...large pedal pads

I'm guessing that car probably is 76+.....MkIV.....tower bolts will tell

MGs and Americas had those nice side markers pretty early on, but I think Rick is right about 1972 being the start for minis. Sadly, the early MK III cars are really rare in Canada. They were great minis with solid subframes and remote 4 synchro gearboxes. I think they had better build quality than later cars and were supported better, which led them to get driven into the ground.

Purely anecdotal, but MGB's had side reflectors in 1969, and went to full side markers in 1970, Perhaps Minis did the same?

Hello, can someone please tell me when the big side markers were put on Canadian Minis? This Mini is for sale in Quebec as a 1972.
Interior is all from a 1979 ??
