One would think.... unless they "fixed" the problem after 2006.   The 07 and 08 convertibles are very confusing because they have very little in common with other same year models!  I bet some of the MINI service advisors don't even realize it!

yes it is a recall, but only includes model years 02-06, but even being an 08, if mine has the same defective part, i would think they would still allow it to be part of the recall.

The 2008 R52 Convertible is indeed a Generation 1 car, mechanically the same as the 02-06 R50 and R53 hatchbacks.  That's not to say you'll have more luck with warranty work.... I think you'll find its 3 years OR 100,000 miles, unless you have an "extended" warranty....   That is of course unless you are talking about a "recall" which should not expire....

According to WorldPac It's the same part number, $450 for the ZF Factory part or $466 for the Bosch Factory part.

Mini's are like buses they come along in a bunch

have an 08 mini cooper with power steering pump failure, was hoping they would still replace under warranty since its under 100,000 miles, i was wondering if the part number in my car is the same that is in a 02-06 that is covered under warranty? mine is regular convertible and not the s model, if its same part number, it would seem silly for them to not change mine as well under warranty since it would be the same defected part?? any info i can bring into dealership with me would be appreciated
