Ah, Ive known of that car when it was, uh, slightly more mini. It was SCCA GT5 racer run by a lady named Trish (Bubnis??). I actually inquired about it in Dec 2008 when it was on the minimania for sale section. I believe I have the engine and transmission from it in 2009. Well, parts of it anyway and they are exploded into 2 different zip codes, that is.
I think the chassis went to someone wanted to put back on the street using an 850 engine. I suggested he start with a different car but because of what he paid and the whole bird-in-the-hand thing, he wanted to stick with it. I did see it up for sale about 12-18 months later still partially street prepared but driving.
Looks like the next owner decided to go a significant'y different direction.

I'll have a tube framed mid-engined very rough project race/autocross/OptimaChallenge/Street-Rat Outlaw (Labala/MR2 based, steel Saloon or Estate body & possible Clubman front sheetmetal) - dyi but hopefully rolling n steering. 15"x8" wheels w 4wheel disk brakes - I'll get some project pics up when it's a little farther along & everything in the same zip code. The only thing Mini will be the sheet metal above the sill/body pinchweld.
