Thanks for the comments and links. I've been going through a lot of pics. I'm trying to stick to doing this up original but will take some side trips in the interest of safety(if possible when talking Mokes).

You probably have a better chance of survival in a Moke being thrown clear compared to being strapped in especially next to that side mount gas tank.
I put Jeep Wrangler/CJ5 retractable lap belts in my Wrangler with no doors as i did not want the buckles flapping around damaging the new paint. These would fit perfectly in a Moke as long as you are not looking for originality.
Sorry no help on the mounting points as i have not owned an early Moke.

Seems to be some debate if shells came with Seatbelt mounting points or not... I do not know facts

my 66 = No seatbelt anchor points in sidewalls of the shell - I replaced ALOT of metal , no belt anchors were considered to be re installed.

Link has a small discussion about Seatbelts and perhaps were in Later 67 shells had anchors in the shell
  ...others use Eyelets etc thru the floor or such

CLM in that thread Removed anchor threaded portions from his replacement shell metal sides= By bye belt anchors= but you see the plate type used

For my car :  i used a pair of lap belts, Aviation lift latch belts. and they kindly wrap around the seat edges and use the rear seat belt anchor bolts to affix the belts to the body. This prevents a long strap from the floor up to the seating area.

Work fine, however I dont wanna know what belted / unbelted / belt affixed to body / belt affixed to seat difference are in an accident... Seriously either way = you're done... (if its that bad)

Hi, Ron,

There are certainly some on this forum who can help you out.  I did that job a few years ago on my Moke, just getting it on the road now.

I fabricated plates, with captive nuts and welded them on after considerable looking at pictures of completed Mokes and finding more.

Some places to look: RunaMoke, Mokepanels.com - gallery, and anyplace you can find pictures of restorations, such as the Moke.org uk moke owners site and forum. Also, the Roy Scott books you will find there on Moke Restorations.

I'm starting the metal work on a 67 Moke and would like to incorporate lap belts. If anyone has any how to information it would be appreciated. I found the AKD 3538 pdf here but it's not very clear. Looking for information on both front and back mounting locations, backing plates, etc.
