Lowering the suspension on your semi-elliptic Sprite and Midget can be very helpful in improving the handling. Our special kit includes alloy blocks and a set of extented U-bolts. You may want to lower your Morris Minor just for looks, to make the 14" wheels fill the wheel wells, or to improve handling. This kit lowers the rear approximately 1 1/4" and installation is very straightforward. The Minor front can be lowered by simply adjusting the torsion bars. Moving the lever in relation to the torsion bar makes a change in ride height of 1 1/2" per spline. Smaller incremental changes can be made by using a different graduated hole in the adjuster plate. Each hole in the plate represents 1/4" change. Page 146 of the Haynes repair manual (PUB02) gives a very detailed procedure. In extreme cases you may want to trim the upper bump stop to insure suspension travel.
