Your engine number falls in that same bracket.
YJBAV2R identifies the vehicle type ... a Morris Mini Van (as opposed to ..V1R which would be a Morris 850 Van) (Don't ask me what's the difference :) and 3067 is your unique sequential car/chassis etc number.
So, if someone asks "when was your car built", "Feb/Mar 67" is as good an answer as you will find.
Cheers, Ian

I don't think I've ever--like not EVER, seen a resident of NB with a LWB Mini. (that I recall anyways)
We just got the roundnose saloon)
..and they all rusted away.........a long, long time ago

BUT
Do they have any kind of latch for the rear doors, like the boot latch in a regular saloon?
If they do, that might also give you a clue to year.
Good luck

Unfortunately the wiper motor is long gone - that would have made it nice and easy! I managed to do that for the other wreck I have though. The van was pretty much a rolling shell with the engine in it (not bolted in, just plonked in the front).

I've had a browse through old pages from years ago and I'm still not sure if I can find the exact year of my mini panel van. It was found out in the bush years ago by the fella I got it off. I think he thought it might be a 67, but that would just be a guess. I'm hoping to register it next year (if the restoration goes to plan!) so I think I will require this information...
On the plate it has the following information:
Plate 1 reads
British Motor Corporation (Australia) PTY LTD. Joynton AV. Zetland N.S.W
Plate 2 reads
Type: YJBAV2R
Serial: 3067
Engine No: 8Y/U/H 27616 (last 5 digits are stamped)
Colour: 1/Toga White/1
G.V.W: 2044 LBS
I've had a look in all the usual places for a stamping on the body but can't find anything unfortunately... is anyone able to assist in solving my mystery?
Thanks!
