Jemal, someone got a gorgeous Mini!  Great job on that!

Bummer about BAT and their less than scrupulous means of sale...  Good on ya for taking the higher road!

Here's my problem with BAT.  I've encountered a huge conflict of interest when is comes to their "favorite" sellers. It should be obvious to anyone that spends time there that sellers like a guy known as "911R" make a lot of money for the site... and himself.

I happen to have several of his favorite vehicles... The Mini, a Porsche 911,  a K5 Blazer, a GTO,  others, so I know quite a bit more than most people about all of them.  On several occasions I have asked a question for clarification about the way something was represented, and have simply had that question disallowed. It never appears.  This is an enormous disservice for buyers.  BAT simply does not allow questions they deem awkward that might draw into question the way something was represented - when they stand to make a lot more money by keeping it vague.

One in particular featured a Classic Mini that looked like a typical hot-rodded example, and from the photos and the driving video, I would swear it had a 1098 engine rather than the represented 1275+.  I asked about the presence of tappet covers or a photo of that area, explaining why... you can tell I'm an articulate fellow, and the question was polite and not "disruptive" to the progress of the auction.  It never appeared, and "911R" ended up getting $41,000 for that Mini.  That was easily more than twice what it would be worth on it's best day if it only had a small bore engine.  How would you like to be that buyer and find out BAT "protected" their seller, and did not allow a knowledgeable question to reveal the truth?

There would probably be more interest and bidding on BAT.

Jemal, very cool car. I like the 48IDA. I have the same setup for my Mini. Do you have any advise on jetting and basic setup for a pretty hot 1275? Just a baseline setup. Thanks. Dean

Most of you have seen it in photos if you get the Mini Mania emails, or use the website!  Of course I worked here for many years, and was building this car almost all that time! And I'm still here almost every week - like today... to pick up a part or just visit!

It's known as THE Cooper Road Mini, and has a long time website and YouTube channel with the same name. It's a definite Resto-mod, so it should be interesting to see how it does.  A chance to get an awesome car for less than the cost to build?  Here's the auction link:
