I'd suggest you contact both Palo Alto Speedometer (as mentioned) as well as West Valley Instruments in Reseda, CA. to find out the following:
1) Would they be able to recalibrate your odometer to accurately register in miles in lieu of kilometers
2) Would they be able reset your current km reading to reflect the corresponding reading in miles
If they can handle these issues for you, have them change the kph face to the mph face while they have it apart.
If either of these companies can (or cannot) perform this work for you, please let us know.

My Paul Smith has had this done.
The speedo is accurate, but the odometer is still in km insteam of miles.
Irritating, but not the end of the world

The speedo scale is linear … as long as it reads 0 when you’re stopped and 80 when you’re doing 80 then, then a new scale will read 0 at 0 and 50 at 50 (mph).
Or take the easy way out (like my friend with a rare 50s sport car). Add a few small dots with an indelible pen on the edge of the glass to indicate important points (like 40/50/60/80/100) which pretty much covers our local speed limits (in kph). Our local fuzz makes a lot more money out of speeding fines than they seem to in the US…….
Cheers, Ian

Odd question here: Could the "different colored plastic / # of teeth differences related to differential ratio and tire size possibly also be related to these questions? Best of luck, Mark
